Injury woes for Whatling.

With the winter miles in the bank, the PCA-Ciclos Uno-Isaac Racing Team are all fired up and ready for their first competitive outing at the Wally Gimber on Sunday 2nd March but, unfortunately, it won't be a full team outing as planned. James Whatling has been nursing an achilles tendon injury since the Majorca training camp and has been advised to stay off the bike for a week to ensure it heals up properly.

James is understandedly gutted about his lack of participation in the team's season opener, "It's typical bad luck for me really, you put in all the hard work over the winter and then manage to pick up an injury two weeks before the first race of the season. I just hope that this rest sorts it out and I can get back into training and be fit and ready to race with the guys as soon as possible".

James will still be there to cheer the team on at the Wally Gimber and hopes to be back out training the following week.

The team for the Dulwich Paragon Primavera will be: Martin Bryant, Ian Franklin, Daniel Kogan and Daniel Patten.

The team is launched.

On Saturday 16th February, in Hainault, Essex, the PCA-Ciclos Uno-Isaac Racing Team was officially launched.

The whole team were present, along with Ciclos Uno supremo Trevor Maddern and Ciclos Uno manager and team mechanic Ewan Hendon. It was a bright and frosty morning, (a bit cold for hanging around in lycra if truth be told!) but thankfully photographer Mike Marsland was a true professional and rattled off all of the photos quickly and efficiently.

The serious business over with, Trevor suggested having some fun with the Squeezy shark logo and there was only one man for the job.....step forward Dan Kogan! It was hilarious, as he was photographed having his bum and his arm bitten off. Only Dan could pull those faces and he did a great job making the pictures funny and making us all laugh. With the photos done, the team retired to the warm and Mrs Maddern's tea, coffee and hot chocolate.....thanks Janet!

Once suitably refreshed, the team made the most of their day together and went for a team ride. With only a couple of weeks before the start of their season at the Wally Gimber, the team chatted and had a few laughs as they rode, continuing the process of getting to know each other in the sunny Essex countryside, before the hard work starts in March.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors for all of their help throughout the 2008 season, these companies are the finest in their fields and we are very lucky to have secured their support. Without their help it would be impossible for us to be out there racing week after week so thank you to: Plowman Craven, Ciclos Uno, Isaac Bicycles and Squeezy sports nutrition. We must also thank Jim Walker for the Limar helmets and Northwave shoes, Ken Jones at Onimpex for the Bioracer products and Oakley UK for the sunglasses.
